Did a show on this theme a few years ago. Enough time has passed and a different station gives me a chance for a do over! Only problems are, I can't find half my Prelude tracks and I my mic played up tonight.
Still it's not about me, it's about the tunes. So happy listening.
Also a single track diversion for obvious reasons.
Pretty obvious how this materialised tonight. See the track listing for more details. A couple of deviations, but they are explained in the pod.
Enjoy!
Tonights show was a 2hr special on one of the most infulencial pairs of produccers from the early eighties and helped shape the sound of what came to be known as modern R&B. From Cheryl Lynn, Change, SOS Band through Janet Jackson and on to Usher, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige and Boyz II Men, these two men influenced them all.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis - we salute you!
Once again covering for the legend and original Cruise FM jock - Marky P. A show of four parts tonight: Soul Intention, R&B mix, Nu but Old Mix and Club Classix.
Full track listing below.
Enjoy!
